'Manikarnika' box office collection day 11
Kangana Ranaut starrer period drama ' Manikarnika: The Queen Of Jhansi' is holding steady at the box office as the film enters its second Monday. The film managed to do well in the second-weekend collection. Co-directed by Kangana and Radha Krishna Jagarlamudi (Krish), the movie narrates the story great Indian freedom fighter Rani Laxmibai of Jhansi. Kangana Ranaut plays the warrior queen in the film. The film which released on January 25 will stand among the top three female-driven films in Bollywood.
According to the latest report by BoxofficeIndia.com, on its second Monday, the film has raked in a total of Rs 2 crore on its eleventh day at the box office. The film has collected a total of Rs. 15.75 crore till now in its second week. The film has till now managed to collect a total of Rs 72.31 crore at the box office in eleven days.
FYI, the period drama collected a total of Rs 56.56 crore in its first week.
The final collections of the film will be a good one for a female-driven film beating all the films barring 'Tanu Weds Manu Returns' and 'Raazi' leaving Kangana Ranaut with two out of the top three. However, no other female-driven film has gone over Rs 50 crore in terms of costs while this period drama one is way above it.
'Manikarnika: The Queen Of Jhansi' narrates the story of the great Indian woman freedom fighter Rani Laxmibai, who fought against the East India Company and the British rule to prevent her kingdom of Jhansi from being annexed.
'Manikarnika: The Queen Of Jhansi' is directed by Radha Krishna Jagarlamudi (Krish) and co-directed by Kangana Ranaut. The film also stars Atul Kulkarni, Jisshu Sengupta, Richard Keep, Suresh Oberoi, Vaibhav Tatwawaadi, and Ankita Lokhande. The film is written by Prasoon Joshi and has music composed by Shankar–Ehsaan–Loy.
